Lily is a very vivacious girl. She is very sweet and kind, but also very lively and fiercely independent. She can take care of herself, thank you very much! She is the life of Gryffindor house, always ready to smile and laugh, though she can have her moments of being sad or depressed…or being mean. She is not above telling people off when they hurt someone she cares about, and isn't afraid to speak her mind. She has been called "cheeky" a number of times by Horace Slughorn, who considers her a prized student. She is sarcastic, sassy, and fairly stubborn when she wants to be.

Lily is a very pretty young woman of average height and build. Her most notable features are her hair and her eyes, which everyone she has ever met has not been able to resist making comment on. Lily puts a little bit of effort into her appearance, making sure she doesn't look like a slob whenever she leaves her dormitory.

Brief History

Lily is the second child in the Evans family, a year or so younger than Petunia. She was raised in Spinner's End, just outside of London. It was as a child that she met Severus Snape, a boy who told the young Lily that she was a witch. This assessment was made, of course, off of the strange abilities Lily possessed. Lily readily accepted his story, and when she received her acceptance letter from Hogwarts, she was perhaps more prepared than a muggle child should have been. Her acceptance to Hogwarts and her strange abilities caused a rift between her and her sister, Petunia, that hasn't healed over time. The two are still at odds, even now that they are coming into adulthood. Lily has led a successful student career at Hogwarts, being made prefect in her fifth year and Head Girl as of the beginning of her seventh.

Her friendship with Severus has not lasted through the years, though. Severus began hanging out with an ugly crowd, and practicing the Dark Arts, which Lily abhorred. The final straw came at the end of fifth year when, after coming to his defense, a flustered and embarrassed Severus called her a mudblood. Lily has not and can not forgive him for it. If he truly cared about her, she maintains, he would have never called her such a filthy word, nor would he continue to hang around the people he calls friends and practice the Dark Arts.

Her friendship with the foursome who call themselves the Marauders, though, is slowly blossoming. Where Lily has been friends with Remus and Peter over the past few years, she is slowly developing a friendship with Sirius and James. She used to be repulsed by their arrogance and ego, but the summer seems to have cooled them down some.

Lily has also made a name for herself as an enemy of a majority of the Slytherins, her dislike of the Dark Arts leading to many an argument and confrontation in the halls.
